I have prepared data for 140 agents but when i apply the rank formula it gives me rank 1 in the first cell but when i drag it down it still gives me rank 1 with a green colour mark on the top right hand corner of the cell. When i click the cell some sort of mark comes there and when i click on the mark there are several option like Update formula to include cells, help on this error. So if a want a proper ranking i have to click it one by one and do the ranking which is very tidious. Is there any other simpler way for this? How do i come out of this error? Please advice

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
The only way I can replicate your problem is when I am missing $ signs in the formula. Are you using $ signs to make it an absolute range that does not move when you copy the formula down?

=RANK(a1,J$1:J$8,1)

Edit: Barry beat me to it when I was putzing around.
