I have sales figures that I need to rank, and they are represented in a pivot table. I can put the formula "=RANK(B6,B$6:B$54)" outside of the pivot table and it will work correctly.

How can I represent the sales ranks without having to retype the formula to the side of the pivot table each time the pivot table is refreshed or updated?

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Why not to install your ranking formula in the DataBase as an extra field (Rank) and put this field in the Pivot Table

You need to use the getpivotdata function. Something like this:

=RANK(GETPIVOTDATA("Sales",$A$3,"Product","widget1"),B$6:B$54)
