Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.

I'm not sure I understand this, but if you want to select empty columns, you could use the .end function

Range("iv1").End(xlToLeft).Offset(0, 1).Select

This will select the first cell in the first empty column
