Re: Date picker replacing MSCal.ocx

Hi, I just noticed this in the Excel 2010 release notes:

Calendar control

Calendar control (mscal.ocx) was a Microsoft Access feature that could be used in Access worksheets. Calendar control is removed in Access 2010 and is not usable for Excel 2010. Instead, users can use Date Picker or their own custom calendar controls.

Does the date picker exist in 2007? If so where do I find it to add to a sheet so I can ready my apps for 2010?

Cheers

Dan

Re: Date picker replacing MSCal.ocx

Try <DEVELOPER>then <INSERT control>- select the last symbol - that gives you entire list of ActiveX (ocx) controls currently registered- you can custome register. I have not tried - but it should work - thats how you normally add 3rd party OCXs - if it is not registered , the 2010 OCX - the try using Access - it allows you to both register and unregisters OCXs

Re: Date picker replacing MSCal.ocx

Hi Rasm, thanks for your response, I have no problem registering an OCX, what i need to know is if the Date Picker (built in Calendar control in 2010) is available in 2007 by default.

Re: Date picker replacing MSCal.ocx

The last symbol of the activeX controls is - "More" - it is a hammer & Wrench crossed over - if you click on it - you then see all the controls available' so simply click developers tab - next the 'insert' - now last symbol of the ActiveX controls - voila - there is the list. I did not see the date piker - but that is included in visual studio 2005 - so it is not that new. So if you register the data picker - it should show in the list of registred components

Thanks Rasm, it doesn't look like it is included by default in 2007.
