Hi

I need to get some code which checks if the workbook is read only before i try and save it and if so tell the user this and abort the operation

Does anyone know anything i can use?

Thanks

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
You can put this in your "ThisWorkbook" code

Code:
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)
If ActiveWorkbook.ReadOnly = True Then
    MsgBox ("This file is read only and can not be saved.")
    Cancel = True
End If
End Sub
