I've pasted a link on a sheet2 from sheet1.

When using the data filters on sheet 2, it shows the values in that column, but when I do a CTLR+F and enter a value I don't get a hit.

Why?

And can I by doing something else?

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
What are the settings when you use Ctrl+F? Make sure you're not searching for 'match entire cell' if you want to find something within a string, for example.
