I have a large spreadsheet with complex formulas that take a long time to recalc. When a user makes a selection in a menu, a number of unneeded columns are hidden (none of which are referenced by the remaining visible columns).

Within having the highlight the visible columns, is there code that would take the time to recalculate only the visible cells in the file?

Thanks!

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
If those formulas are not dependent on, or precedent to the visible cells, or using any volatile functions then they shouldn't recalculate anyway.

If you want to try calculating less then you would need to switch calculation to manual and use a range calculation, but I'm not entirely convinced that it will make much difference.
