recent files opened list

is it possible to expand the "last open file history" in the file pulldown menu to remember more than 4 previously opened files.
and if so how

Welcome to the board. :)

Yes, you can change this setting. Go to Tools/Options and select the General tab. There is a "Setings" section there that enables you to adjust the recent filelist number.

(This is based on Excel97 - hope 2000 is similar!)

it only goes to nine but thats better than 4

ps any one know a way of making it greater than nine? You can but ask
