I have read a number of posts about recovering data from corrupted files (all useful), but is there a way of recovering formulas (particularly) and other information (formats etc - less important) from cells in the corrupted file?
So far I have been able to recover data by opening the corrupted file in Excel viewer and copying and pasting the data into a new Excel file.
I can also link to parts of the corrupted file using, for example, the formula
=('C:\temp\[corrupted.xls]Extracted'!Z43)
I tried to use VBA to pick up the formula from the linked file, but without success. Has anyone a solution?
PS
1. Excel 2000 SP-3
2. Will back-up more frequently in future!
