Have a list of dates in cells a2:a9, in cells b2:b9 have numbers, in cell c2 I have the TODAY() function. What I need is a formula in D2 to read todays date in C2 and put the corresponding number from b2:b9 in D2. The number would need to increment as the date changes. Is this possible with a formula? On 1/18/14 the number would need to be 301 and so on.
 Day CFA 'S Today Date Cuts 1/14/2013 375 1/17/14 266 1/15/2013 216 1/16/2013 317 1/17/2013 266 1/18/2013 301 1/21/2013 249 1/22/2013 281 1/23/2013 346

### Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.

Try
=VLOOKUP(DATE(YEAR(C2)-1, MONTH(C2), DAY(C2)), A:B, 2, FALSE)

Mike, ran into a problem when I opened the formula today, didn't take into account the weekend. Formula is looking at the 19th and giving me an NA since there is no 1/19/2013. Is there a way around weekends with this formula?

Try removing the last argument (FALSE) of the formula.
