reference from another sheet VBA

Using VBA/macro I need to reference a column from 1 sheet to another sheet. The column in the 1st sheet can contain duplicates as long as the data is present in the other sheet column. If the data entered is not present from the other sheet when a macro/button is click, it will be check the sheet and it will promt a message that it is not found in the list.

From the example above. It should prompt that the name "Tim" is not a valid name. It is not valid because the name "Tim" is not present in the sheet2. Any thoughts on how to make this. Thanks.

Thanks Sir. Is it also possible to check multiple columns instead of one. Incase another column will be set and will also be using the same data from sheet2? Like if we add 2 or 3 column that will also need to validate the name. Thanks

If, for example, you'd like to check Columns A, B, and C, first declare the following variable...

Note, however, that if a name in Sheet1 is not present in Sheet2, and the name occurs more than once, each occurrence is listed. If you'd like to list any name just once, the code will have to be amended.

Thanks Domenic. Using the 2nd option. What is better in notifying a user. Providing the cell location or just the column where the mismatch is. Thanks again

In this case, I don't think it's a question of "what is better", but rather "what information is needed" in order to carry out the task at hand.
