In one situation I have typed, "=(" and then navigated to a cell in another workbook and am able to reference the information in that cell.

When I try to change the source of the reference to another workbook by doing the same thing, the link informtaion isn't automatically prompted into the formula. I tried typing the workbook link manually, but it then prompts the 'Open' window for me to select the file that I am trying to reference. I do that, and then the result returned is '0'.

It's as if the file is not properly recognised for some reason.

Can anyone help?

Dan

Thanks Aladin. I've just realised why it wouldn't reference properly. It was because the workbook that I was trying to reference was open in another instance of the Excel program. I closed the file and re-opened it in the same Excel instance. Thanks again.
