Hi! First post here... I've spent the past hour and a half searching for what I'm trying to do and I've found similar issues, but none exactly like the issue I have. Perhaps it's because I don't know the right keywords to search for!

Basically, I want to reference every 5th cell from another sheet, filling downwards. So in the sheet I am in, cell A1 would reference ='Sheet1'!A5, cell A2 would reference ='Sheet1'!A10 and so on. Obviously I can create these manually, but it takes quite a long time.

I'm sure there is some kind of code to do this, but is there also a way to insert a constant formula in the cell address to calculate the row number such as ='Sheet1'!A((Current_Row*5)-5). I know that is not near correct formatting, but I don't even know how to make something like ='Sheet1'!A(2+2) equivalent to ='Sheet1'!A4.

Hopefully I explained this well enough... :)

Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.

You're thinking along the right lines...

Try, in A1

=INDEX(Sheet1!A:A,(ROW()-ROW(A$1)+1)*5)

copy down column
