Referencing Table Data

I have a sheet set-up with a table that has the characters A-F down the first column, and the Values 1-5 across the first row. Is there a way that I can have a user input a character A-F in one cell, a value 1-5 in another cell, and in the third cell have the value appear that is being referenced?

Check out the Index() function In help..
Which tells you to:

=(Index,Row#,Col#)

=Index(A1:G10,3,4)
