I have received two data lists, the first list contains thousand names and details and the seconds list contains 200 names and these 200 names are there in the 1000 names as well and I want to filter the names in the first list so that I get only the 200 names and their details in the first list without selecting each and every name form the filter option in that particular first list.

Welcome to the Board.

Two ways:
1. Use a VLOOKUP to see if the person from one list is in the other. You can then filter out those who aren't. See: MS Excel: VLOOKUP Function (WS)
2. In Microsoft Access, you could simply do a query between the two lists, joining on the Name field. An Inner Join will only return the records that have matches.
