Hi there, I am new to this forum. I have a question regarding excel and would appreciate it if someone could help.

Basically, I have 3 sets of data with the following columns:

A B C D E F
AB 10 AB 9 AC 5
BA 10 BA 10 BA 4
CD 8 CE 9 CD 9

I would like to be able to make all the variables in row A/C/E, if they match, to be in the same row. If they don't match, then I would like there to be an empty slot. For example:

A B C D E F
AB 10 AB 9 -- --
--- -- --- --- AC 5
BA 10 BA 10 BA 10
CD 8 -- -- CD 9
--- -- CE 9 -- --

Is there anyway I can accomplish this? Thank you so much.

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
Sorry I wish to clarify the format. Basically there are 6 columns in my example, A, B, C, D, E, F. And the dashes are (empty cells). Thanks!
