relationships not "saving" in diagram view in data model

I have several tables in the data model, I created relationships, each time I come out of diagram view, then go back to diagram view the relationships aren't showing up. I am able to relate fields when adding a column for a merge query. Am I doing something wrong?

what Software are you using? make sure it is the latest version. There were issues with various versions in the past.

I've got Excel 2016 which matches the version being used by the Dept. of the Navy (DON) which I'm required to use.
