I have a basic question that for the life of me is giving me a headache. When I go to click on the relative references tab I can't tell if it is on or off until I do my edit. Is there an easier way? Thank you so much!

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand

Are you referring to the Developer Tab / Use Relative Referances Option in the Code module? If so, then if the Developer tab is in view that will be highlighted when it is on. That would be for Excel 2007

Yes, the developer tab . . . I used the wrong term. When I click on relative references to turn it on or off there is no place where it says it is on or off?!?

It stays orange (pushed) when it's in relative record mode - to see it you need to activate the Developer tab.
