Hi all,

Ive searched the forum for answers to this one but couldn't see anything!

I have inherited some excel spreadsheets that have several tabs of data and several links to other excel spreadhseets that cannot be found.

Rather than just break these links I want to find out which cells are currently referencing these "old" spreadhseets. (Then I cant decide if the data should be hardcoded or re-linked elsewhere)

Does anyone have an easy wasy to do this without looking into each cell?!?!!?

Thanks in advance
Mandy

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Hi & Welcome

Dominic B's add in has this facility

http://www.dom-and-lis.co.uk/

Download & install the add in, then from the new menu (Ultimate)

Cells > Find & Remove Links

It will show you all the links & ask if they are to be deleted

That web-site looks good - But I cant download .exe files onto my work PC...

I'll maybe drop them an email for the code if possible!

Thanks anyway...

Good afternoon Geordie

I’m actually part way through updating the links utility at the moment. It will now list all links in a listbox, output the location, value and underlying (linky type) formulae to a seperate workbook, select (auto highlight) links, remove all links in a worksheet or all links in a workbook.

The bad news is this hasn’t made it to the add-in yet. The good news is it’s just a macro from a workbook and will can be called from any other open file. If you want to try this send me a PM with your e-mail address.

BTW, you don’t have to download it as an .exe file you can also download it as a .zip file – just follow the appropriate link, but I can e-mail to you as a series of files or an archive if you’re struggling to download it.
