Removing Scientific Notation

I handle data from different sources. My data has a number with between 1 to 4 decimal places. The usual format the cell to a number does not work for me since my data could be .1 or .10 or .100 or .1000. Simply changing to a number with 4 decimals would change my data. I have tried to format the cell as Text. I have tried copying data and Replacing in a field as Text. Any other ideas please?

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.

Format does not change the underlying number, only it's appearance.

Not sure where the Scientific Notation (from your title) comes in. I do not see any scientific notation anywhere in your question. Scientific Notation looks like this: 1.234E+16 (there will always be a "E+" in a number expressed in Scientific Notation in Excel).

How exactly are you trying to use this number?
I ask, because in mathematical terms, .1 = .10 = .100 = .1000
So it doesn't matter how you express that number, it will not affect calculations (since they are all equal to each other).
