I have a list of hyperlinks in an Excel workbook. For example, in cell A1, I have "State of Alaska". If I click on that, it brings me to say "http://www.alaska.com"

What I want to do, in cell B1, is to have the "http://www.alaska.com" text/hyperlink....Is there a function that pulls the actuall url from the name of the hyperlink?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
you can use the hyperlink function and set your *friendly name* to whatever you want. the formula will look slightly redundant, but it will work.

Thanks - What I'm actually trying to do though is extract the actual URL from the friendly name....meaning, if i'm provided with the hyperlink named "Red Sox" in cell A1, I want the actual URL to appear in the adjactent cell...http://www.redsox.com without having to type it out...I have hundreds of entries that i would like to automate this process..thanks again
