Hello all,

I have an Excel.xlsx file that I created back in 2016 and I locked the darn thing with a password. After 2 days of going over old passwords, I managed to remember the password and I got the darn thing opened but every time I save or close the workbook when I reopen it, it is asking me for the password again.

This is not a sheet protection password and I am pretty sure it is not a VBA password as I have looked and there is no macro or VBA in the workbook hence the xlsx extension.

I am the one who protected it, I just don't remember how to remove it.

Sucks getting old.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Never mind I figured it out. Thanks Don

So you worked out it was a workbook password, not a sheet ?

Yes, I knew it was a workbook (pretty sure anyway) just could not remember where the toggle on toggle off was located.. found it under file/info....
