Is there a better or alternate way to replace a formula with it's calculated value other than copying the cell and using Paste Special?

I already have a VBA solution coded. Need info for a non-technical type

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Thanks Andrew. That's what I used in my VBA solution.

My user wants to do it manually and is having difficulty with Paste Special

You can change all your formulas to "Text" results.

If A1 through A3 contains your values and you want the Sum of these cells and any other cell contains this:

=TEXT(SUM(A1:A3),0)

Then the Sum of the range used in the formula above will result in a left justifiedText result and not as its right justified numerical value. As cells A1:A3 change so will the Text result of the formula above. This may or may not help you? JSW

Alright this is my quickest trick for replacing formulas with values.

Select a range.

Right click and drag on the edge of the range as if you were going to move the range to a new location.

When you let go of the mouse button a shortcut menu will popup and one selection is "Copy Here as Values Only".

Therefor...

If you right-click and drag-drop a range back onto itself you have a very speedy way to convert the range to values!
