I have a bunch of social security numbers in this format, ###-##-####.
I need to remove the dashes without Excel changing the numbers. It is dropping off the zero if a zero is the first number. How can I prevent this?

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
If the SS# is in a1 you can use this

=TEXT(SUBSTITUTE(a1,"-",""),"000000000")
