Hello,

Can anyone recommend the simplest method of
"setting up" the file opening environment in Excel 2000 in such a way that everytime any Excel or Text file is opened in it that if there are any "#N/A" in the workbook or worksheet that they are replaced automatically by either blanks or a letter denoting this fact.

So I'm really looking for something that would be in the "Excel 2000" memory everytime Excel is run.

I hope someone call help !

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type

Well I have a lot of time series data going into excel workbooks for me to look at with invariably a lot of lines which are not available for any number of reasons coming up with #N/A. So either the solutions to have an add-in in Excel 2000 which we get rid of the #N/A everytime any file is open in Excel or you have some kind of macro to run before u start every excel session - which I don't think anyone would be able to remember to do everytime they open Excel !

So any ideas ????

The free addin from asap-utilities.com has a function in the Range Menu to customise the error message associated with formulae. You can make the error blank

There is no formula behind the #N/A - The timeseries data is being pulled from historial databases for each month. Where it does not find a value for a particular month it comes back with an #N/A.

EXAMPLE OF DATA ON A ROW

SERIESNAME 2002:7 2002:8 2002:9
REGSCARNS@GR 29.19 19.310 #N/A
REGSCARNS@UK 195.637 87.245 #N/A

Let me know if you have any suggestions...

Usually there is a setting which tells the database what to return if data is missing. What is the database and what method do you use to get the data?
