Hey,

I have an excel worksheet that contains lots of $ values and words and I need to replace all of the $ values with XXX.

Example
$1 blah
blah $1.22 blah blah
blah $10,000

I would like this to change to
XXX blah
blah XXX blah blah
blah XXX

Can anyone help me out?

Provided your $'s aren't the result of number formatting, have you tried Find & Replace (CTRL+H)?

Find what: $
Replace with: XXX

Hey Smitty,

No the $'s are not formatting.
Find and replace wont work, I need to $ + the value to be replaced with XXX and I have too many different number combinations to do a find and replace on the exact values. It about 2,000 rows with around 1,500 different $ + number combinations.

Cheers for having a think though.
