Request to know how to set the Alarm ( Time ) in a cell

Excel Facts

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
If any formula is available to set the cell for some timings for example <TABLE style="WIDTH: 71pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=94 border=0><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 71pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3437" width=94><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD class=xl63 id=td_post_2904531 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 71pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; HEIGHT: 15pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffc000" align=right width=94 height=20>7:15 PM</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> so the second the particulars time reaches , some kind of a high light or pop up can come , so that , we can get the attention on this as to see what is it . I request to help me what formula to be used .

I wanted to set the time alarm in a cell , is that possible in Excel .

You can use Conditional Formating to change the colour (or other format) of a cell, if a certain date or time has been passed.

Hi Gerald Higgins ,

thanks for the advice, if you could explain me in detail , will be more helpful as I'm not finding this time factor in the excel conditional formatting tool

OK.
Let's say you want to highlight cell A1 if it contains a time that is less than the current (system) time.
Select the relevant cell.
Go into Conditional Formating.
New Rule
Use a formula to determine which cells to format
Use this formula
Code:
=A1<mod(now(),1)
and format as required.
Copy to other cells if you like.

Hi Gerald Higgins ,

I tried doing this , but I'm not getting thru , may be I have not understood this properly . I have my doubt as the formula should be something else as the formula cannot be simply " =A1" , it should have something more , pls let me know if i'm not wrong .

Looking forward to your reply .

=B1<=C ........ And then I chose the colour I wanted to have coloured high light

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 96pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=128 border=0><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" span=2 width=64><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; HEIGHT: 15pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64 height=20>B1 </TD><TD style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64> C1</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD class=xl65 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND: #ffc000; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; HEIGHT: 15pt; mso-pattern: black none" align=right height=20>5:00 PM</TD><TD class=xl65 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" align=right>5:39 PM</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
