Retrieve the first file entry (VBS)

Is there a VBS equivalent for DIR to retrieve the first file in a map ?

Thanks for the reply
What I already had :

Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
set f= fso.GetFolder("D:\Bruno\")
Set fc = f.Files
For Each f1 in fc
   if eerste="" then 
      eerste= f1.name
   end if
...
next

But this is not what I call 'nice coding' : loop through more then 300 files to know only the name of the first file in the directory...

Maybe you could cheat :wink:

Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") 
set f= fso.GetFolder("D:\Bruno\") 
Set fc = f.Files 
For Each f1 in fc 
   if eerste="" then 
      eerste= f1.name 
      Exit For
   end if 
... 
next

Exit For : not my favourite, but is this case there is a good reason to use it :wink:
