Morning All.

I have a cell, C5, that displays the final figure in a column (H). Each day I add new lines to the worksheet which means I have to go back into C5 and change the column H cell so that it shows the uptodate value, ie start of day balance is shown in H43, 7 lines added so new end balance is displayed in H50. Go into C5 and change to =H50.

I've tried to record a macro using the End Down keys but it doesn't work.

Ideally I'd like the value in C5 updated whenever I open or close the workbook. If I could get a macro to do this I could alse create a button on the sheet and assign it so that I can update it when I'm working on the sheet.

C5 is also referenced from another workbook which provides a summary of different workbook balances.

Any ides please?

Regards

Hi Aladin and many thanks for responding.

Don't know where you got this from but after a couple of false starts it is working fine.

Will now look at some of my other spreadsheets where I have similar problems.

Many thanks again.
