Hi people,

I hope you are all well.

I have a new problem, which goes like this...

We have four cells:

__A___B__
1|~ | 8
2|A | 9

The "~" represents an unknown character/word.

I need a formula that will identify the letter "A" in cell A2 and return the figure in B1.

Please note the only constant is the character "A" and the cells are random, for example "A" could appear in cell A100, which would mean I need the figure in cell B99.

Can anyone help?

Kind Regards
Coolsnaz

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
