I have two lists in two different files. List_2 is a variable. It is updated monthly and I do not know how many rows of data it will have or if there will be any new items in the list.

List_1 is a pre-determined list. As an example, let's say there are 5 items in this list.

In List_1, File_1, I would like to create a formula that will notify me if there are any new values in List_2, File_2, that are not in List_1. Ideally by returning the exact value, but I'd also be happy if it just produces a count.

I would like to do this without having to copy/paste and setting up to do a Vlookup. How is this possible?

Would appreciate any help

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
