HI,

Have a feeling this is an easy on so here goes

column H can contain one of the following
1.Tur BkH
5.Ger BkD
7.EPL BkA

In the cell next to it in Column I, i want to return a text depending upon whats in the column H cell for example

if it the cell contains
BkH i want the return value to be HOME
BkD value to be DRAW
BkA value to be AWAY

however the cell could be any one of the 3 descriptions

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Try
Excel Formula:
=LOOKUP(RIGHT(H2,3),{"BkA","BkD","BkH"},{"AWAY","DRAW","HOME"})
