My dataset has one date field. I find that when I use it in one pivot table and group it by month I cannot reuse it and group it differently--for example by quarters. What is the problem? What is the solution?

Thanks

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.

By "reuse it", do you mean by copying the PivotTable so that you have more than one Table?

If so, I believe the problem you are having is due to the PivotTables sharing the same PivotCache.

If you "unshare" one or more of the PivotTables, you can use different groupings for each Cache.

This article explains how to unshare the PivotCache.
