Hi,

I have set of 2 data in column A and B which give a result in Column C . I would like to know what formula is used to get the Result. THere can be some Fix or variable factor which are unknow that are maybe used.

Here is a sample data, if anyone know a script in VBA or any other easy way to find the forumla and factors used.

434293899
449444943
576498986
6565191015
11608201233

<colgroup><col style="width:48pt" span="3" width="64"> </colgroup><tbody>
</tbody>

I can provide more data if required

Thanks in advance for help :)

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
I think this is practically impossible.

"I have set of 2 data in column A and B which give a result in Column C"

Can you be sure without any doubt that C is the result of some formula PURELY between A and B or could there be other values involved?
If there may be other values AT ALL then I'd say this is impossible without knowing those values.

Can you not go back to the data source and request how the results are obtained?

Yes it is a formula, and both values in A and B are involved as changing a value in A and B will change the result, Point is to find the Factor ,

if I knew that factor I wont be asking here. I want to setup a loop script that will test that X and Y factor and try to find same factors that applies to all. What I am sure is that Factor must be same (or maybe obtain by doing some math between A and B).

Hypothetically lets imagine that there are 2 Factors X= 2 Y=3

=(A9*E8)+(B9*G8)
2 4 16
5 7 31
9 12 54

But If X and Y are unknown and Formula of C is unknown too, how will you go find them ? Isn't there anyway to loop through VBA to find out something common ??

I know it seem a little hard, but I saw there are some script that let you reverse the value to find formulas, but I cant find anything that match my request. I hope someone lese have a better idea ho to do so.

Thanks

There might be some clues if you have sample data
1. where a is zero
2. where b is zero
3. where c is zero

Possible additional helpful sample data
1. 2 samples where a is the same (or very nearly so) and b is different
2. 2 samples where b is the same (or very nearly so) and a is different

Are you able to see a formula in the formula bar when you select a cell in column C?

That's possible (not sure for b if I can) but for A yes, I can have same number for A and different for B which will output different result.

Also There cant be 0 in any data.

I will provide you the data later in the evening.

Just a hint, higher the data is in A or B higher the result will be
