Hello all,

I am building a spreadsheet application intended for resale to a niche market, so the issue of piracy and password hacking comes to mind. My initial intent is to hardcode certain pieces of buyer information into the application via VBA prior to distribution so that illegal users would at least have to look at some other company's name on their reports, etc.

However, ambitious individuals with know-how could potentially hack the password and scour through the code to make the necessary changes for their use.

I have been researching third-party solutions and, for right now, they seem to be the only possible solutions to this problem. I don't think physical dongle solutions will work for what I need.

Does anyone have any technical details on what, if any, improvements M$ has made in this department for Microsoft Excel 2013?

Has anyone used a third-party provider for spreadsheet protection and licensing? If so, who did you use and would you provide a personal experience review?

Thanks in advance.
