File protect.xlsm has a short macro with shortcut key CTRL+SHIFT+B.
File test.xlsx is where I want to run the macro. I can do so if I open both files and while in test.xlsx go to Developer, Macros, Run.

Is there a way I can use the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+B while in test.xlsx to run the macro?

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
Yes, as long as protect.xlsm is open, just pressing the shortcut key combo should do that.
