Hi,

I have created two buttons which sort data within a spreadsheet.
But when I protect the sheet to prevent changes to data these macro's cannot run because the sort option is disabled.

Is there a way to get around this?

many thanks
Andrew

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
You will need to unprotect the sheet:

ActiveSheet.Unprotect

then protect it again afterwards:

ActiveSheet.Protect

Both methods accept arguments. Record a macro while you unprotect and protect to see the full syntax.

You may want to put the password in also so as to not to be propted...

eg Sheets("Sheet1").unprotect password:="password"

and to reset....

Sheets("sheet1").protect password:="password"
