save date last modified

hi.... I want to use some code to save the last modified date on my worksheet but I am not sure how....

I am assuming that i need a worksheet_calculate sub with possibly an =now() formula ... is this correct and if so how would i code this please

I am finding that this totally freezes up my excel and causes it to crash..... dunno why
