I have been having difficulty with using Excel files in Excel 2010 when they were produced in Excel 2003.

In particular there seems to be a problem Saving or when using the workbook.close or workbook.save

It just doesn't save.

Anybody having similar problem?

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
Hello there
It is even more simple than that.
I am having difficulty with saving file in Excel 2010 which I did not have with other files. Am I on my own or is anyone else having similar problems

I'm going crazy with the same problem and of course it's intermittent so I can't make it happen but of course it happens at the worst times and I lose hours of work.

Thanks,

I also had the problem on another computer less than a year ago. I thought it seemed to reach a point of no longer saving. It acted like it saved (the same as it used to, I think) making me think the save was successful. Seems like I messed around a lot until somehow it saved. Maybe I copied everything to another book and saved that. I don't recall how I dealt with it. I do recall losing some info and trying hard not to lose more.

Your are a kind soul! Thank you for sharing. Sounds like determination is the cure. I'll see if they have any at the hardware :)!

My hunch is that you need Windows 7 (I have Ultimate) and Office 2010 (I got mine at the Microsoft store). I'll check out TechNet and the MS forums to see if anyone has specifics regarding this painfully rude bug!

Thanks again!
