We are experiencing poor performance when we save a shared workbook on our US network drives (both using VBA and normally)

Examples are:

Local network: 0.719 seconds
US Netwok: 45.937 seconds

Is this something we have to accept or are there ways we could reduce the latency when saving workbooks over long distances?

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.

You will almost always notice a tim lag when saving on a server that is not local. There are too many factors to know if this is an Excel only problem, but I would doubt it is. You could try saving other files like word and paint files or something, but file size will also have a big impact on how long it takes to save. I typically notice 10-15 seconds longer saving files to different servers within my company depending on file size, the server bandwith and many other factors.

Hope that helps.
