I want to do a generic scatter graph with a little twist. Let say I have data like this
category Rank Return
Growth 1 3.62
Core 2 -3.95
Core 3 -4.19
Core 4 -4.50
Core 5 -4.88
Core 6 -4.89
Value 7 -4.93

I'd like what will end up being a pretty much straight line of rank and return (x,y), but would like to color code for example, all the core blue, value red, growth green. Only these three categories exist.
Thanks,

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
When creating your graph and you are asked for the data range, click on the series tab and add each set individually. If you want, I will e-mail you an example.
