I need excel to keep a number in a field. I need the field to be inthe format of text. but when I change it to "text" it makes my 20 digit nubmer in scientific notation. I can't use that. How do I stop excel from making my number scientific???

thanks!!!

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
the numbers are already entered though... I cant reenter all of them it would take forever... I could copy and paste but i think that will also bring over the cell properties

Try a formula like:

=TEXT(A4,"00000000000000000000")

in a cell formatted as Text. Then Copy|Paste Special|Values.
