Screen settings - novice question!

On the bottom part of excel is a bar that says "Ready" on the bottom left hand part of the screen. Somehow this morning I made that row dissapear.

I like that row because you can have it setup to show the sum or average of a bunch of numbers without setting up a formula.

Could someone tell me how to get that bar to show up again.

Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
Thanks.... always feel like an idiot when crap like that happens. No idea how I got rid of it without going into the options menu.
