If my string "A" is empty it replaces FIL1 with nothing - great.

But if my string contains the filepath that I want, it does not do anything?

Hm...

VBA Code:
    Cells.Replace What:="FIL1", Replacement:=A, LookAt:=xlPart, _
        SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=True, SearchFormat:=False, _
        ReplaceFormat:=False, FormulaVersion:=xlReplaceFormula2

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
Excel Formula:
A = "='C:\Users\John\Downloads\Rabbit - 06.09.2020\[TK.xlsm]'!"

Got it!

I had to remove the last: "'!" like:

Excel Formula:
A = "='C:\Users\John\Downloads\Rabbit - 06.09.2020\[TK.xlsm]"
