I am looking for a word:
Binding

Excel will find this word, but also Bindings.

Can I limit the search to only Binding?

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Andrew,
That does not work at all.
I can search for Binding and it will find all references to it, i.e. Bindings.

If I search on "Binding", " Binding ", "Bindings", " Bindings " Excel finds nothing.

So the quotes eliminates all items.

Here is an example of the text string I am searching;

Agency Implant Silver Bindings MD

I need an exact search for Binding and not Bindings

Thanks

How are you actually searching?

Doug,

Can you describe exactly what method you are using to search.

Is it VBA, formulas, using Edit > Find?

I am using the Find and Replace feature in Excel.

Highlight the entire column

Ctl + F
Find What: Binding

Finds all instances of Binding, which includes Bindings. I want to find the exact text string of Binding.

Thanks,

Could you use autofilter on that column?

Using a custom filter of

Contains | binding
and
does not contain | bindings

seems to work for me

VonPookie,
Good POINT! I guess I am so close to the project, I did not see that big Pine tree in front of me.

Though it would be nice if Excel did let you search for exact match. But maybe there are other things going on that would prevent this.....

Thanks

Doug S.
