Search selection in url

How can I get excel to search the contents of a cell on a website to give me a search results.

I am trying to search on sharepoint a number from excel i tried to record a macro but I think it breaks the record when you go outside of excel itself.

Please help.

I assumed this would work

Selection.Copy
URL = "http://www.google.com/"
SearchText = "selection"
