A host of forum search-related questions:

When you list multiple term in the Advanced Search pane, does the searching algorithm search using "AND" (all terms) or "OR" (at least one term)?

How do you specify that a search should use "AND"?

I notice that when searching on the FAQ page, there is a drop-down that asks whether you want to search match "All Words" or "Any Words"--why isn't there a similar feature on the generic search page? Wouldn't it be a little more useful there?

Is there a general syntax for searching?

Any and all responses appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not aware of the technicalities of the MrExcel Advanced Search but a simple test would appear to show that it uses "AND". I just searched (for posts in the last month) for the unlikely pairing of "regex" and "pivot". When searching separately, hits were found for both. When entering both words in the Keywords box, no hits were returned.

For some other options about controlling your searches, consider using Google's advanced search with the site specified as MrExcel.com

This is indeed helpful.

It couldn't hurt to put this kind of information in the FAQs. Just a thought.

Thanks, Peter.
