I am looking for a method that I can search an entire workbook. I simply have several tabs (spreadsheets) and need to be able to search the entire workbook to find the spreadsheet that contains the information that I am looking for. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Choosing "Select All Sheets" and Hit CTRL+F does not work in Excel 97. This has been noted several times in other forums.

Regards,

Mike

Thanks for letting me know about Excel 2000. I use the search function frequently. The upgrade would be a big plus.

the pretty simple manual way to do this is:

1. Right click on a tab.
2. Choose "Select All Sheets"
3. Hit CTRL+F
4. Type the info you're searching for in the dialogue box
5. It will search the whole workbook for your information.

HTH

EDIT:: I forgot to say: "Welcome to the Board"
