Hi guys

I have a column with names (example: HALA WIVE IVBY ...)

Now I need to count these words.
So that I get a total for each name how many times it is in the column.

This is easy for you guys I know :) But not for me :(

Hope you can help me

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
If the cells only contain one name then:

=COUNTIF(A1:A10,"HALA")

If the cells contain more than one name then use wildcards like this:

=COUNTIF(A1:A10,"*HALA*")
