Some colleagues have a roster that has one sheet per month and each day has a separate line on this roster. Each one of these days has a note explaining any variations to the roster. What I would like to do is transfer these notes to another file as simply as possibly. What I like to know is, is there a way to search across the whole 12 sheet workbook for today's date. I'd like to avoid using macros if possible because of the security settings on the company machines.

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Highlight all the sheets, and FIND (ctrl-F) today's date. It will search all the ones you have selected.

That's helped a bit because I now know how to select all the sheets. I wonder though if there is a formula I can use across the different sheets to pick the info up. I'm using this formula where all the arrays and look-up values a the ones I'm looking for

=INDEX($A$1:$B$11,MATCH(Today(),$B$1:$B$11,0),MATCH("comments",$1:$1,0))
